Loading product into V-Blenders is a common challenge that can introduce multiple operator safety risks. Lifting and dumping drum or bag stock into the opening of a V-Blender is a difficult task that can expose operator to high levels of airborne dust and create awkward lifting postures that can lead to operator injury. If your blender can support full vacuum pressure, the Vacuum Transfer Station provides an ergonomic workstation with an integrated Drum Tipper and vacuum transfer hopper. Rheo can also provide an independent vacuum conveyance system if the blender cannot support full vacuum. The emptying process of the blender is often a very dusty process that can be significantly improved by using the Mobile Ventilation Sleeve for local dust extraction.

Tray dryer technology is a long established drying process that requires a lot of tedious and potentially hazardous product handling. There are two challenging material handling processes associated with tray dryers and Rheo offers a solution for both processes:

Drum Emptying onto Trays: The Side Mount Drum Tipper lifts the drum into an ergonomic position allowing the operator to easily pull the wet-cake onto the product tray. An integrated tray holder provides an easy way to hold the tray as it is being filled. The open side of the holder allows the tray to be easily slid off and into the dryer cart.

Tray Emptying: once the drying process is complete, the tray is placed on the tray holder and the dust extraction hood is flipped above the tray to capture airborne dust. The tray holder is then actuated to flip down and the powder is emptied into a receiving drum. The integrated hood provides localize dust extraction.

Wet Granulation (A)

Wet Granulation (A)

High shear granulators are a common method used in the wet granulation process. These systems introduce many ergonomic and dust exposure hazards associated with both filling the bowl as well as scraping and removing the contents. Rheo offers material handling and containment solutions for both processes.

Wet Granulation (D)

The solids loading process for high shear granulators and the transfer and unloading of the fluid bed dryer can be complicated. The potency of the powder, volume of materials, intermediate container type, potential risks of deflagration when solvents are present and maintaining sufficient uptime on Wet Granulation Suite are all key considerations that influence the determination of the best fitting solution. Rheo offers many solutions for  handling a wide range of powders in your wet granulation process.

Bin Blending

Bin Blending

Bin blending offers many advantages when it comes to product blending during the formulation process. By using the transport container as the blender, there are fewer product transfers that have to occur. This simplifies the handling process resulting in safer operations, reduced dust exposure, improved manufacturing efficiencies, and easier cleaning methods.

Rheo in-house manufacturing allows our team to deliver fully customized bins and bin blending systems with the superior craftsmanship that our customers have come to expect, but with lead times that will fit your project schedule.
