This system facilitates the weigh and dispense transfer of materials from bulk bags and drums into receiving bins through a gravity-fed process. Bulk bags containing API are unloaded using a Bulk Bag Unloading Station (BBUS), which is equipped with a hydraulic bag conditioner and pneumatic massage paddles to promote consistent material flow. Excipients are introduced separately through a drum dumping station. Both the API and excipient handling lines are equipped with Comil delumpers to break up agglomerates and ensure a uniform material size.
Material flows through a sanitary wye and is dispensed into receiving bins positioned on a pit scale. This scale provides real-time weight feedback to the system PLC, enabling precise control over dosing. API dosing is managed by a sanitary rotary dosing valve, which achieved an accuracy of ±1 kg. A ground monitoring system is connected to the receiving bin to control static discharge, and the system is fully compliant with Class II, Division 2 requirements for low Minimum Ignition Energy (MIE) API powders.
